امروزه موضوع هوشمندسازی منازل و سایر محیط ها یا smart home و BNC جهانی شده و از این قاعده لوسترها و صنایع روشنایی هم مستثنی نیستند.
هوشمندسازی لوسترها و صنایع روشنایی بخش مهمی از عمل هوشمندسازی در منازل محیط های مختلف را تشکیل می دهد. روشن و خاموش کردن یا کم و زیاد کردن نور و روشنایی لوسترها بدون فشردن هیچ دکمه ای یک مزیت به شمار می آید. امروزه با استفاده از بستر شبکه و وسایل ارتباطی مانند اینفرارد بلوتوث و فن آوری RF می توان روشن و خاموش کردن و میزان نور و رنگ لوسترها را به راحتی از راه دور کنترل کرد. جدا از مقوله کنترل لوسترها، امنیت شبکه خانگی که امروزه در بستر نت قرار گرفته نیز حائز اهمیت است. لذا سعی می شود کاربر غیرقانونی به این شبکه خانگی نفوذ نکند و امنیت کنترل این مجموعه فقط از طریق کاربر قانونی از راه دور حفظ شود.
این سیستم نورپردازی هوشمند، هم قابلیت کنترل دستی در شرایط خاص را داشته و هم دارای قابلیت تبدیل به وضعیت هوشمند است. تعدد حضور تایمرها و دیمرها در مدارات شبکه نورپردازی لوسترها، اهمیت نقش آنها را در زمانبندی های خاموش روشن کردن و شدت نور لوسترها و روشنایی ها نشان می دهد. در لوسترهای چند شاخه حتی می توان هر تعداد از لامپ های لوستر را روشن کرد. سهولت استفاده از این سیستم بالاست و امکان استفاده برای ساده ترین افراد را هم مهیا می کند. در هر خاموش و روشن کردن لوسترها یا سایر موارد، گزارش انجام صحت کار هم ارسال می شود.
یکی از سیستم های به روز شناخته شده برای کنترل لوسترها XBee transceivers است که فرمان های امنی ارسال کرده و از تداخل با سیستم های مشابه جلوگیری می کند. در برخی از این شبکه لوسترها و مکان هایی که تعداد لوسترها زیاد است مثل تالارها از میکروکنترلر PIC 16F877A microcontroller جهت مانیتور کردن لوسترها در ال سی دی هم استفاده می شود.
چشم انداز آینده، هوشمند شدن تمام لوازم خانه از جمله لوسترها و صنایع روشنایی بوده که از مهمترین مزایای آن می توان به صرفه جویی بالا در منابع و انرژی مصرفی اشاره کرد./
